JAKAZiD is Josh McInnes, a music composer and producer from Portsmouth in the United Kingdom, born in 1988. He works mainly in happy hardcore and also draws on freeform and Japanese dance music, while his earlier output includes house, trance and drum and bass.

Music and style

His music focuses on the core features of happy hardcore: fast tempo, melodic writing and energetic dancefloor-oriented production. The tags associated with his work also place him across UK hardcore, hardcore and j-core. His sound is described as combining intensity with melody, and it is shaped by influences from Japanese dance music as well as freeform.

Aural Adrenaline

Early in his production work, McInnes releases a series of albums under the name Aural Adrenaline. One planned third part of that series does not survive after a computer failure destroys the data files for tracks he has been working on for more than a year. He later sets up Aural Adrenaline Digital, a digital label intended to continue the Aural Adrenaline sound, and it issues a small number of releases, including reconstructed versions of tracks from the unreleased Aural Adrenaline 3 material.

Other work

JAKAZiD is also known for comedy video remixes of the Esure and Cillit Bang television adverts. These videos are hosted by Lucky Kazoo and attract a large online audience, becoming the work for which he is probably best known.
