Jahkoy is a Canadian R&B singer and rapper from Toronto, Canada. He is also known as JAHKOY and uses the mononym Jahkoy. His work sits across contemporary R&B, hip hop, R&B and trap soul.

Early life and background

Jahkoy is born in Toronto in 1994 and grows up in the city, living in both the Lawrence Heights and Jane and Finch neighbourhoods. His parents transfer him to a Catholic school in an effort to keep him out of trouble. He begins writing poetry at the age of 11 and later turns those poems into raps.

Career

By the age of 14, he begins recording and rapping under the name Raheem. He later performs and records as Jahkoy, and is signed to Def Jam Recordings.

His early influences include Pharrell and André 3000.
