Jackson Dean

Jackson Dean is an American country singer-songwriter from Odenton, Maryland. Born in 2000, he develops a country sound with Southern rock and outlaw influences, and he is also a multi-instrumentalist.

Career

Dean begins his career with local performances in his hometown before building wider attention through a breakout period that places him on several artists-to-watch lists, including Pandora’s Ten for 2023 across all genres, Spotify’s Hot Country Artists to Watch 2023, CMT’s Listen Up class of 2023, CRS New Faces 2023 and Amazon Music’s 2023 Breakthrough Artists to Watch in country.

He moves at 18 to a one-room shack on his grandfather’s property, where he lives with no heat or plumbing. His public image and songwriting are shaped by that rural, self-reliant lifestyle, along with interests in leatherwork, wood-burned art and sleeping outdoors under the stars.

Recordings

Dean releases his debut album Greenbroke through Big Machine Records. The album is described as atmospheric and musically focused, and it helps establish his profile as a gritty, lyric-driven country artist.

His single “Don’t Come Lookin’” reaches number one quickly after release and makes him the youngest solo male country artist to top the charts with a debut. The song also appears on the Billboard Hot 100, in the soundtrack for The Ice Road, and in a John Dutton scene in Yellowstone. His follow-up single, “Fearless (The Echo),” receives strong radio support and is Most Added on impact.

Live activity and collaborations

Dean appears on bills with Toby Keith, Miranda Lambert, Brantley Gilbert, Kane Brown, Jake Owen, Brooks & Dunn, Lee Brice, HARDY and Brothers Osborne. He also performs at Austin City Limits and Stagecoach. He joins Blake Shelton and Carly Pearce on the Back to the Honky Tonk Tour and later performs dates with Eric Church and Parker McCollum.
