Jackdaw

Jackdaw is a Celtic rock band from Buffalo, New York, active from 2000 to 2009. The group forms around Tim and George, who are friends since birth, and Tommy, who come together around St. Patrick’s Day in 2000 to create a hard rock-influenced take on traditional Irish music.

The band takes its name from a passage in Angela’s Ashes. A few months after forming, it opens for Black 47. To broaden its sound, the group later adds Mr. Moore, a piper who plays for the Erie County Sheriff, and Mr. Davies, a fiddle player already well known in traditional Irish circles.
