Jackal & Hyde

Jackal & Hyde is an electro and breaks group from the United States, formed in 1998 by Scott Weiser and Todd Walker. The duo is associated with a harder-edged electro sound that combines industrial-influenced beats with heavy, distorted keyboards, and they are also described as working in electro-core.

Style and formation

The project begins as an attempt to bring together the dancefloor focus of electro and breaks with a tougher sound. Scott Weiser is also known for his work with Dynamix II, while Todd Walker’s influences come from Miami ghetto bass and industrial dance. Together, they develop a style that sits between electro, breakbeat and industrial music.

Recordings and collaborations

Jackal & Hyde join Hallucination Recordings at the start of the project and release a limited-edition album, The Badlands, on the label in 2002. Their track 20k Freaks appears on DJ Icey’s Essential Breaks, and their music is included on numerous DJ mix CDs and compilations.

Their original work includes tracks such as Beyond, Go-Bang, Seek & Destroy and Get Down to my Technique. They also carry out remix work for Kid Rock, Limp Bizkit, Love & Rockets and Genitorturers.

Live performance

The group’s live shows are known for strong sonic energy, visual elements through Hallucination On Film, and continuous original dance music aimed at the club floor.
