Jack Adaptor

Jack Adaptor is a London group that forms in 2002 from the remnants of Family Cat. The act centres on the two main writers, Paul Frederick and Christopher Cordoba.

Their songs focus on romance, disillusionment, and the ordinary ways people affect one another. The writing often combines despair and anxiety with humour and irony, and it places these themes against settings linked to California, or imagined versions of California, reflecting the perspective of songwriters shaped by London life.

Swimming Pool Lies, their fourth album, develops these ideas across songs that mix sincerity with irony and familiarity with a more unusual edge.
