Ital is a psytrance and electronic music artist from Chile. The act is the solo project of Daniel Gonzalo Carcur Arredondo, who also works as a sound engineer, producer, DJ and label manager of Antu Records Chile. His early musical path begins as a guitar player, then moves through several styles of popular music before he focuses on psychedelic trance.

Career and projects

In 2001, Ital begins working with Andrés Rodillo on psytrance production under the project Metatron, which becomes one of the pioneering acts in the local scene. They use samplers, synthesizers and audio software, and perform live in different parts of Chile. In 2004, he starts his own project, Ital, a name he says means purity in Patois. He uses the project in scenes across Chile, Europe and the Americas.

Style and recording work

Ital’s music is described as groove-oriented full-on psytrance with strong atmosphere, rhythm and psychedelic elements. The project’s work is presented around ideas of purity, light and spiritual energy, which are linked to the label and the music’s broader concept.

Antu Records Chile

Since September 2007, Ital creates and runs Antu Records, described as the first Chilean psytrance label. The label name comes from an indigenous Chilean word meaning sun. Its stated aim is to spread light and divine energy through psytrance music and to connect with roots and spiritual healing.

Performances and international activity

Ital performs with a range of international psytrance acts, including Dickster, Tristan, Zen Mechanics, Headroom, Liquid Soul, The First Stone, Burn in Noise, Rinkadink, Amd, 28 and M-Theory. He performs in Germany, England, Brazil, Portugal, the Czech Republic, Chile, Mexico, Argentina and Ecuador.
