Israel Nash Gripka

Israel Nash Gripka is an American singer, songwriter and guitarist from the United States. Born in 1981, he begins releasing music under the name Israel Nash from 2011, after earlier recordings under his full name. He is associated with alternative country, country, indie folk, indie rock and psychedelic rock.

Career

Originally from Missouri, he moves to New York City in 2006 and performs in Lower East Side clubs including The Living Room and Rockwood Music Hall. In 2009, he independently releases his debut solo album, New York Town, which is recorded at The Magic Shop in Soho. The album is later issued in Europe and the UK by Continental Records Services.

His second album, Barn Doors and Concrete Floors, is released in 2011. It is recorded during the summer of 2010 on a small farm in the Catskill Mountains in upstate New York. Later in 2011, he leaves New York City and moves to Dripping Springs, Texas.

His third record, Israel Nash's Rain Plans, is recorded in the summer of 2012 and is produced by Nash, with engineering again by Ted Young. In 2015, he and his band record Silver Season on tape at his Texas ranch, and the album is released that year. In 2016, he and The Bright Light Social Hour release the three-song collaborative EP Neighbors.
