Isolation

Isolation is a German black and doom metal group from Lübeck, formed in 2004 by Johannes, Albert and Karl. The band begins with a style rooted in depressive black metal, then moves in a calmer and more solemn direction over time.

History

Karl leaves the band in 2007, after the first concerts of that summer. Johannes then takes over bass duties himself until Andre joins in during autumn 2008. The group is active from 2004 to the present.

The band is associated with black metal and doom metal, with its early material linked to depressive black metal and its later work described as more restrained and solemn.
