Isla

Isla is the name used by several different acts. One is a trio of three sisters who perform together in the UK and have been playing music as a group since early childhood. They begin making music at the ages of 2, 4 and 6, and their sound develops into a blend of pop, jazz and folk with other styles mixed in. All three are multi-instrumentalists, and their three-part harmonies are a central part of their music. John Peel describes them as “enchanting”.

Another use of the name is as an alias for Josh Rouse. A further artist called Isla appears as a guest on several downtempo and ambient compilations.
