Iron Void

Iron Void is a doom metal band from Wakefield, formed in 1998 by Jonathan “Sealey” Seale and Andy Whittaker, who also play in Solstice and The Lamp of Thoth. The band is set up as an old-school doom metal group, with clear influence from Black Sabbath, Saint Vitus and Pentagram.

Line-up

Sealey resurrects the band in 2008. The current line-up is Sealey on bass and vocals, Steve Wilson on guitars and vocals, and Damien Park on drums.

Releases

Iron Void’s early releases include the live demo Live 2008 and the EP Spell of Ruin, issued by Doomanoid Records in 2010 and later re-released as an expanded CD edition with bonus tracks and additional photos. The band’s debut full-length album Iron Void follows in 2014, then Doomsday in 2015, Excalibur in 2018, and IV in 2023.

Live activity

The band appears live at Malta Doom Metal Festival in 2012 and tours with Nomad Son, The Prophecy and Mortalicum. It also plays shows with Pagan Altar, Lord Vicar, Witchsorrow, Solstice, The Lamp of Thoth, Leather Nun America, Iron Hearse, Misty Morning, Dark Forest, Asomvel and others.
