Iron Savior

Iron Savior is a heavy metal, power metal and speed metal group from Hamburg, Germany. It forms in 1996 as a project led by multi-instrumentalist and producer Piet Sielck, who works with former Helloween member Kai Hansen and Thomen Stauch, then the drummer in Blind Guardian. Sielck remains the main creative force in the group and is the only founding member still involved.

Style and concept

The band combines power metal with a science-fiction narrative. Its debut album, Iron Savior, introduces a story centred on a self-aware space vessel called the Iron Savior and its link to the legendary civilisation of Atlantis. The band’s music is compared with Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and Queensrÿche, while the albums featuring Kai Hansen include elements associated with Gamma Ray and Helloween.
