IRK

IRK is a Leeds trio active since 2013. The group consists of Matthew Deamer, J.S. Gordon and Ed Snell, and works in a style that sits between noise rock and math rock, with a noted mathcore edge. Their line-up uses drums, bass and vocals.

Releases

The band’s debut EP, Bread and Honey, appears in 2014, followed by a split EP with Wren in 2015. Their debut album, Recipes from the Bible, comes out in 2018 and shows them extending their sound across shorter, more abrupt pieces and longer, more progressive tracks. The album also includes guest vocals and saxophone, and marks a point where the band pushes further into the more abrasive and unusual parts of their style.

Activity

Alongside these releases, IRK tours throughout Europe while developing their sound.
