Invocation

Invocation is a UK djent and progressive metal group from Milton Keynes, active from 2009. It begins as a project formed by guitarist Tom Still in early 2009, with drummer Alex Todd-Weller and bassist Robin Saunders in place early on. Vocalist Matt Duffy joins in early 2011, and guitarist James Hewitt joins in early 2012 after the departure of former guitarist Jim Bailey.

The band’s sound combines heavy rhythmic riffs with expansive soundscapes and melodies, drawing on technical, progressive and melodic influences. Its aim is to make and share music that the members enjoy.

Invocation releases its self-titled debut EP in November 2011. Since then, the group performs at UK Tech-Fest and shares stages with Chimp Spanner, Aliases, Bury Tomorrow, Red Seas Fire, Heart of a Coward, The Algorithm and Hacktivist. It continues to write new material and play live shows.
