Inka Upendo

Inka Upendo, currently known as Inkara, is a Finnish musician and producer from Helsinki. She works with intertwined percussion, ethereal vocals, found sounds and synthesizers to create electronic music with a minimal and atmospheric character.

She splits her time between Falmouth and Finland, and has had airplay on BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 6 Music. She is also invited back for a session with BBC Music Introducing in Devon and Cornwall, where she is twice named upload of the week.

Her live performances include shows in Falmouth, Winchester and London, as well as an appearance at Kontula Electronic in Finland. Her debut EP is described as contrasting dark and light production, with themes including inadequacy, the absurdity of love and the ubiquity of capitalism.
