Imperium

Imperium is an instrumental project by Adarsh Rangayyan from Calgary, Canada. The project is active from 2007 and remains ongoing. It releases music under the Imperium name as a solo-focused metal project.

Releases and style

Imperium’s self-titled debut appears in 2009, followed by the full-length MMX in 2010. The music combines thrash metal rhythms, melodic guitar leads and progressive song structures. Its influences include Metallica, Iron Maiden and Tool. MMX is recorded by Jeff Muller at Alchemy Studio in Calgary.

Context

The name Imperium is used by several unrelated groups across different countries and genres, including techno metal, thrash metal, black metal, melodic death metal, technical death metal and rock. This project is the instrumental solo work of Adarsh Rangayyan.
