IMI

IMI is a hard rock and alternative rock act from Dallas, Texas. The name also refers to a separate virtual YouTuber project that is a person, associated with Next Scene and RK Music.

Dallas rock band

The Dallas band forms in 2007 and uses the spelling iMi. Its line-up includes Chris Roberts on lead vocals and guitar, Matthew Gene on bass guitar, Brady Hamilton on drums, and Adrian Kindred on lead guitar. The group plays a mix of hard-driving rock and acoustic melodies, and its sound sits across alternative rock, rock, hard rock, post-grunge, and grunge.

iMi receives recognition at the Curtain Club in Dallas, where it is inducted into the venue’s Hall of Fame for sold-out shows and performance success. A plaque honours the band, and its autographed portrait appears alongside those of Pantera, Bowling for Soup, Drowning Pool, Pat Green, and The Toadies.

The band wins a battle of the bands and earns a slot opening for The All-American Rejects. It also performs with Puddle of Mudd, Eve 6, Candlebox, Saliva, Faktion, Deaf Pedestrians, and Edgewater.

iMi is selected to showcase at the Texas Festivals and Events Association and appears at the Red, White and Boom Festival in McKinney, Texas. It also plays at the American Airlines Center during the pre-game show for Dallas Mavericks and Houston Rockets fans, and appears at Texas Rockfest in Austin during South by Southwest in 2010. The band also appears on several NBC morning shows across Texas.

The group secures sponsorship from companies including ESPN and LA Fitness. It also launches charity concerts and donates part of the proceeds from downloaded songs to support at-risk teens for Children’s Medical Center.

The album Halo is produced by Grammy-nominated Alex Gerst and released on iTunes.
