Ian Van Dahl

Ian Van Dahl is a Belgian dance and vocal trance group that is active from 2000 to 2008 and later changes its name to AnnaGrace. The group is made up of Christophe Chantzis, Erik Vanspauwen, Annemie Coenen, Peter Luts and David Vervoort. Its music sits within dance, euro-trance, trance and vocal trance.

History

The group begins in 2000 with Christophe Chantzis, Erik Vanspauwen and Martine Theeuwen, who is also known as Marsha. Marsha is soon replaced by vocalist Annemie Coenen. Peter Luts and David Vervoort, better known as Dave McCullen, later join the group. In 2008, the act changes its name to AnnaGrace and retains only Annemie Coenen and Peter Luts.

Releases and songs

Ian Van Dahl is associated with several dance-chart hits, including “Castles in the Sky,” “Will I?” and “Inspiration.” The group’s first album is Ace, and its second is Lost and Found. Under the AnnaGrace name, the group releases a third album.

Members’ roles

Annemie Coenen co-writes and co-produces all the songs on Lost and Found and writes many of the lyrics for Ace. She also writes music for Lasgo, including the number one hit “Surrender.” Peter Luts contributes remixes to the first Ian Van Dahl album, then joins as co-producer of the second album. He also produces work for Lasgo and Dee Dee and is known for his remixes among DJs and club audiences.
