Ian Helliwell is a UK-based artist working from Brighton since 1991. Self-taught and working alone without funding, he produces and develops music, super-8 films, electronic instruments, film and live music programmes, installations and light-show projections for concerts and club nights.

He uses second-hand and self-built equipment in his practice, and since the early 1990s he has made more than 40 short films. Many of these films screen at international film festivals, and his work is distributed by LUX in London.
