I Have A Tribe

I Have A Tribe is the Irish singer-songwriter Patrick O’Laoghaire. His work is rooted in folk, and he is associated with piano-led songwriting and chamber-pop elements. O’Laoghaire is born in 1988.

Background

After school, O’Laoghaire considers training as a primary school teacher, but instead studies at Dublin Institute of Technology. After graduating, he begins writing songs and performing live.

Releases

His debut album, Beneath a Yellow Moon, is released in 2016 and is recorded with Paul Savage, who has also worked with Mogwai, King Creosote and The Delgados. He then releases his second album, Changing of the Guard, in 2023.

Live work and collaborations

In 2016, he tours Europe with songs from Beneath a Yellow Moon. He supports Sophie Hunger, The Slow Show and William Fitzsimmons, and appears at Latitude Festival, Bluebird Festival, Sacred Ground Festival, 7 Layers and Let’s Get Lost Festival, among others. He also tours with and opens for Bon Iver, Anna Calvi, Lisa Hannigan and Villagers. He is invited to the People festival, curated by Bon Iver, where he collaborates with This Is the Kit, Feist, Little Scream and Damien Rice.
