Hypogeo

Hypogeo is the dark progressive project of Nicola Grigatti, who is also known for the darkpsy act Coma Sector. Coma Sector is founded in 2004 with Luca Folli, who performs as Anx-Void Controller. Grigatti also works with another Italian producer and friend, Dust, under the name Comadust, releasing four tracks together.

His earlier work with Coma Sector appears on established psychedelic trance labels including Parvati Records, FreeRadical Records and Goanmantra Records. Hypogeo develops from a move away from faster tempos towards material in the 130–140 bpm range, keeping some of the deep industrial character of his earlier work while shifting towards a more mental and hypnotic sound. His influences include EBM, industrial and darkwave, with artists such as Front Line Assembly, Skinny Puppy, Ministry, Nine Inch Nails, Joy Division and Bauhaus among those named.

Hypogeo releases a digital EP, Wars Worms and Whores, on Zenon Records in 2010. Further releases follow on Glitchy Tonic Records and Uroboros Records, and later in 2010 he also has releases on Zenon Records and Soundcraft Records. His debut full-length, Tree Of Lies, appears on Zenon Records in 2012.
