Hypno5e

Hypno5e is an avant-garde metal group from Montpellier, France, active since 2003. Its music is also associated with experimental, metal, post-metal and progressive metal, and it is described as a French metal act with a progressive and math metal edge.

Language and style

The band uses lyrics in both French and English, and also includes Castilian Spanish on “Tio”, a track from Shores of the Abstract Line. This multilingual approach is part of its recorded output across several studio albums.

Releases

Hypno5e’s debut album, Des Deux l'Une Est l'Autre, appears in 2007. The group’s studio albums include A Backward Glance on a Travel Road in 2009, Acid Mist Tomorrow in 2012, Shores of the Abstract Line in 2016, Alba - Les ombres errantes in 2018, A Distant (Dark) Source in 2019 and Sheol in 2023.

Touring and collaborations

The band tours in France and the United States and performs with acts including Gojira, the Ocean Collective, Watcha, Black Bomb A and Eths.
