HouseWork

HouseWork is a name used by more than one act. One is a progressive house project that releases several EPs on CSMF Records before splitting in 1996. Another begins in 2003 as an instrumental improvising band based in Hobart, Tasmania, with a style that draws on experimental music, jazz, funk, metal and rock. That line-up includes Jeremy Sumner on guitar, Phil McPhee on bass, Antony Lucas on drums and Patrick Moane on percussion. Former members include Tommy Butler on drums, Sam Parsons and Matt Preston on bass, Michael on keys, and Gillan Gregory on guitar.

A separate Housework is a five-piece funk group from Colchester, Essex. It writes, records and performs original songs, with a sound rooted in funk, soul, jazz and blues, and adds rock guitar riffs, solos and hard-edged but restrained beats. Reviewers compare it with artists such as James Brown, Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin.
