House Of Three Hands

House Of Three Hands are a band formed in September 2010. The lineup is Alex Brown on bass and vocals, Jake Wedgwood on guitar and backing vocals, and Teo Castelvecchi on drums. They begin gigging in November 2010, with an early performance in a clothes shop called Threads.

Releases and radio play

The band releases a self-titled EP in May and holds its launch at The Brickyard in Carlisle. The event also features Birds vs. Planes and Meanwhile in Switzerland. The launch is a success, with the venue packed and the EP sold out by the end of the night. In May 2011, Alex Brown meets Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles, which leads to the track “Room 502” being played on his breakfast show and the band receiving eight minutes of airtime.

Live appearances

House Of Three Hands go on to play venues including The Brickyard, Manchester Academy 3, Manchester Club Academy, The Zanzibar, Whitehaven Civic Hall and The Source. Their festival debut takes place at The Whitehaven Festival in 2011, where they headline the CFM stage. They also play or are scheduled to play local festivals including Solfest, Cockrock, Beckfest and Silloth Music and Beer Festival.

Shared bills and touring

The band performs with artists including Kid British, The Futureheads, Detroit Social Club and The Lottery Winners, and appears on the same bills as Madness, Razorlight, Funeral For A Friend, The Gallows and Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel. For gigs outside Cumbria, they arrange a 50-seat bus for local fans, including return travel, tickets and unlimited drink.

Recording plans

The band plans to record a 10-track album over the summer of 2011, with a physical release intended for later that year.
