Horsebastard

Horsebastard are a grindcore group from Liverpool, United Kingdom. Formed in 2011 and active since then, they play a style they describe as “equestrian blastcore”, drawing on grindcore and blastcore with very short bursts of blastbeats, off-time melodies and rhythm changes, and a contrast between high and low notes. Their sound is compared to Discordance Axis, Assück and Excruciating Terror.

Line-up

The group is a four-piece. The line-up is Bob on guitar, Jonathan on drums, Pete on bass and Chris on vocals.

Releases and activity

Horsebastard first play a show in Liverpool in December 2010. They issue an “equestrian blastcore” demo CD in 2011, later replaced by recordings made at Vagrant Studios in the UK. They also appear on a number of compilations. Their planned output includes a 4-way split 10-inch, a split 7-inch and an EP.
