Hoof

Hoof is a Dutch electronic music project from Capelle aan den IJssel that is active from 2008 onwards. It is one of several acts using the name Hoof, but this entry refers to the trance artists releasing tracks under that name.

Project and members

The project centres on Ruud van Wijngaarden, who uses Hoof as an online name, and on collaboration with Lique Angel. Their work is presented as a two-person process: Ruud handles the technical side, including arranging, programming and mixing, while Lique contributes ideas and improvements, as well as humming, clapping, singing melodies and beatboxing. The pair have been making electronic music together for more than 20 years.

Lique Angel is also described as a music encyclopaediva, artist and painter, and she creates the portrait used widely in Hoof imagery.

Style and activity

Hoof releases trance tracks and is associated with progressive trance. The project’s output begins appearing from 2016 onwards.
