Honeyz

Honeyz are an English girl group from London, formed by First Avenue Management in 1997. The group begins as a trio with Célena Cherry, Heavenli Abdi and Naima Belkhiati, and it later includes Mariama Goodman, with member changes taking place across several reformations. The group remains active.

Career

Honeyz debut in August 1998 with the single Finally Found. In December of the same year they release End of the Line. Early in the group’s career, Mariama Goodman replaces Abdi. The group then releases three more singles before Goodman leaves in August 2000 and Abdi returns.

Honeyz disband in 2003, then briefly reunite in 2005 for ITV’s Hit Me, Baby, One More Time. In that period, Belkhiati leaves and Célena Cherry’s sister Candace joins as a performing member. Abdi leaves again in 2006, Goodman returns, and the group disbands again in 2010 because of Goodman’s first pregnancy.

The group reunites again in 2013 for ITV’s The Big Reunion with Cherry, Abdi and Goodman. Belkhiati does not take part for personal reasons. Abdi leaves for a third time in 2014, leaving Cherry and Goodman as a duo. In 2015, Honeyz release the single Definitely Something.

Membership

The group includes Heavenli Denton, Naima Belkhiati, Célena Cherry and Mariama Goodman. Cherry, Abdi and Candace Cherry also perform under the name The 3 Honeyz.
