Holy Moly

Holy Moly are a rockabilly and cowpunk group from Fort Worth, Texas, active from 2005. The band is a four-piece with twin acoustic guitars, upright bass and drums, and their sound mixes country, punk and rockabilly influences. Their songs use storytelling lyrics about subjects including zombies, one-legged adulterers, alcohol and drugs.

Releases and awards

Holy Moly independently record and release their albums. They win Album of the Year at the 2009 Fort Worth Weekly Music Awards, and later receive Fort Worth Weekly awards for Best Live Band and Best Bassist in 2011. The band’s fourth album is Grasshopper Cowpunk.

Live work

The group tour in the US and Europe and open for Bowling for Soup, Junior Brown, Flickerstick and Unknown Hinson. They also regularly play sold-out headlining club shows in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Their performances are described through the band’s material as high-energy and driven by a mixture of humour and heavy playing.
