Hijinkx is the production alias of James Stanley, a Birmingham-based dubstep producer. He first breaks through in 2009 when Radio 1’s Drum and Bass presenters Fabio and Grooverider play his track Quick Change, giving it wider exposure.

Early career

While studying at Leeds University, Stanley continues to produce tracks and receives further airplay on Radio 1. In October 2010, a 1500 Seconds of Fame mix for MistaJam on BBC 1Xtra helps raise his profile further.

Releases and collaborations

Hijinkx’s debut release appears on Dank 'N' Dirty Dubz as the Metallic Vibez EP. The release includes remixes by Requake, Hizzleguy and ENiGMA Dubz. It also receives support from artists including Skream, NumberNin6, Antiserum, Brown & Gammon, Genetix, Subzee-D, Riskotheque, Bukez Finezt and Psy:am.

Radio support and airplay

His work features on BBC 1Xtra, GetDarker and DI.FM, alongside other radio exposure. His music is associated with the dubstep scene.
