High Hazels
High Hazels are an indie rock and shoegaze group from Sheffield, originally formed in Handsworth. The band is a quartet made up of James Leesley on vocals, Scott Howes on guitars, Paul Barlow on bass and Anthony Barlow on drums. They are active from 2012 and release music on Heist or Hit Records.
Early releases
The band releases its debut single, Hearts Are Breaking, through Heist or Hit Records. It follows with the debut EP In The Half Light, which appears in 2014.
Debut album period
In 2014, High Hazels release Misbehave as the first single from their self-titled debut album. Another single, Banging on My Door, follows. In 2015, they release Valencia, along with acoustic versions of Misbehave and a cover of The Kinks’ Waterloo Sunset, which first plays on BBC Radio 2.
