Hex

Hex is a Slovak pop rock group from Bratislava, Slovakia, active since 1989. The band forms around Peter Ďuďo Dudák on vocals, guitar and keyboards, Thomas Yxo Dohňanský on bass guitar and vocals, Martin Fefe Žúži on guitar, Tibor Tybyke Szabados on drums and vocals, and Jozef Joshka Juřička on keyboards; earlier line-ups also include Martin Čorej and Jožko Juríčka on keyboards, and Peter Slameň on percussion.

The group first becomes widely known after producer Martin Sarvaš works with them and after the release of the maxi-single Dobrý motýľ on Monitor EMI, which, together with its video, becomes their first major media hit. Their early albums include Ježiš Kristus nosí krátke nohavice and the cover-version EP Abrakadabra, which features Slovak songs from 1968–69, followed by the self-titled Hex, Ultrapop, Supermarket, Víkend and Nikdy nebolo lepšie. They also issue the compilation Všetko čo mám rád, the retrospectives Hex 1990 - 1995 and Hex 1996 - 2000, and the DVD Cesta z mesta.

Hex’s line-up and recordings place them within Slovak pop and rock, with the band maintaining a long-running presence in Bratislava’s music scene from the late 1980s onward.
