Henry Green

Henry Green is a singer-songwriter based in Bristol, England. His work combines indie, folk and electronic elements, with melancholic melodies and lyrics. He is active as a solo artist rather than as part of a band.

Releases

Green follows the release of the EPs Slow and Real, and his debut album Shift. These records establish the sound that leads into Half Light, which is described as a more expansive step in his catalogue while still keeping an intimate tone.

Style and influences

His production often contrasts live instrumentation with synthetic textures. On Half Light, this approach appears in fluttering percussion and shimmering synths. The music draws on production influences such as Christian Löffler and Bonobo, while his vocal reference points include RY X and Mike Milosh of Rhye.

Collaborators and label connections

Green works with a small number of outside contributors on Half Light. These include Andreya Triana on Tide and Ghostly Kisses on Idle. Ghostly Kisses is also his label mate at Akira. Other credited contributors on the record include strings, a saxophone player and mixing engineer Tristan Hoogland.

Recognition

His music has generated substantial streaming numbers on Spotify and Apple Music, and he has won the respect of other musicians, including London Grammar and Nick Mulvey. Remixes have also come from Cyril Hahn and Harvey Causon.

Live work

Half Light is planned for release via Akira Records, with tour dates in the UK, Germany, Amsterdam and France.
