Hemlocke Springs

Hemlocke Springs is the performing name of Isimeme “Naomi” Udu, a singer, songwriter and producer from Concord, Raleigh. Born in 1998, she works in alternative pop, dance-pop, indie pop, indietronica, new wave and pop, with a sound that also draws on synthpop, art pop and electropop.

She begins to attract wider attention in 2022 when her first songs, “gimme all ur luv” and “girlfriend,” spread on TikTok while she is still studying health informatics at graduate level. Those tracks bring early notice for their playful melodies and bubblegum synthesizer arrangements. In 2023 she follows them with the singles “stranger danger!” and “sever the blight,” and later that year releases her first EP, going...going...GONE!

After a break from music, she signs with Dreamshop Management in 2024, and the publishing company OTM Music adds her to its roster later the same year. She returns in 2025 with “The Beginning of the End,” a single that leads into her debut album, the apple tree under the sea.
