Helian is an Italian one-person metal project associated with dark, gothic, funeral black, aggressive and industrial metal. It appears on the Nevskia sub-label or series, which is set up to release selected works in those styles.

The project is presented as a vehicle for expressing chronic sadness through long, depressive guitar melodies. The musician Danny gives shape to these ideas in a release called Sad City, described as an introspective piece built around a grey, mournful atmosphere and the idea of a “sad city” awakening from darkness.

Sad City is a four-track work and is described in terms of influences that include Katatonia, Anathema, Opeth, My Dying Bride and Massive Attack. The project is also linked to metal, heavy metal, doom metal and atmospheric rock.
