Helen Ganya

Helen Ganya is a Brighton-based Scottish-Thai musician whose work blends indie pop, art pop, dream-pop, art-rock and electronica. Her songs use existentially focused lyrics and off-kilter sounds, creating layered arrangements that move between melodic and more experimental forms.

She releases music on Bella Union. Her debut album for the label is Vanishing Lands, which follows her 2017 record Consume Me. Vanishing Lands explores environmental ruination through monochrome dreamlike imagery.

Ganya also works as a session musician and tours with the post-punk band Fear of Men and the alternative collective Lost Horizons, the project founded by Cocteau Twins member and Bella Union founder Simon Raymonde. In addition to her recording work, she produces and presents Mixed Tapes, a regular radio show on Slack City that highlights the work of musicians of colour.
