Heavy Metal Ninjas are a New Zealand metal group from Auckland, active since 2010. The line-up includes Richie Allan, Joe Brownless, Francis Kora, Stuart Kora, Quasar and Brendon Reihana. Their music is instrumental and sits across progressive metal, djent, mathcore and groove metal.

Background

Richie Allan knows the Kora brothers from their hometown of Whakatane in New Zealand. Before Heavy Metal Ninjas, they form a metal band called Hyet in the early 2000s. After that, the Kora family members go on to play in Kora, a reggae dub fusion group, and Heavy Metal Ninjas develop from jam sessions that take place while Kora are on tour.
