Headspin
Headspin is a group from Türkiye. It is also described as a Gramafonia side project. The name has been used by more than one band, including a Norwegian thrash metal project and a Japanese alternative and punk rock band, but the group identified here is the Turkish act.
Musical identity
The act is associated with thrash metal, hardcore and shoegaze. The available description presents it as a four-piece project rather than a conventional full line-up built by long recruitment. Its sound is linked to heavy thrash metal riffing and a style distinct from the members’ other work.
Line-up and background
The project is formed around Obsidian C., who starts Headspin after becoming dissatisfied with the direction Keep Of Kalessin is taking. He uses the project to work through thrash metal influences more directly. Marcus Silver, also known for work with Griffin and Triosphere, joins because he and Obsidian C. want to share the stage. Vyl is brought in on drums, and Wizziac, a Keep Of Kalessin bassist, joins the group. Hissig Hans records vocals for the demo, but the vocal work is left unfinished and he later leaves the band. Wizziac then takes over vocals, and the line-up settles as a four-piece.
Recording and label
The group records a demo with vocals that are not completed in the original form. It is also connected with Morningstar Records, with the recording described as heading toward a release through that label.
Related acts
Headspin has close links to Keep Of Kalessin through Obsidian C. and Wizziac, and Marcus Silver brings connections to Griffin and Triosphere. These associations place the project within a wider network of Norwegian metal musicians, even though the act itself is identified here as originating in Türkiye.
