Hayley Williams is an American singer-songwriter from Meridian, Mississippi. She is best known as the lead vocalist and primary songwriter of Paramore, and she also plays keyboards in the band.

Career

Williams forms Paramore in 2004 with Josh Farro, Zac Farro and Jeremy Davis. The band later consists of Williams, Zac Farro and Taylor York. Paramore releases six studio albums: All We Know Is Falling, Riot!, Brand New Eyes, Paramore, After Laughter and This Is Why.

Outside Paramore, she is one half of the indie rock duo Power Snatch with Daniel James. She also records the song “Teenagers” for the Jennifer’s Body soundtrack and collaborates with October Fall, The Chariot, Set Your Goals, Zedd and New Found Glory. In 2010, she appears on B.o.B’s single “Airplanes”, which reaches number two on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. A sequel version, “Airplanes, Part II”, includes new verses from B.o.B. and Eminem, while Williams’s vocals remain the same, and the collaboration receives a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals.

Solo work

Williams releases her debut solo single “Simmer” and her first solo album, Petals for Armor. Her second album, Flowers for Vases/descansos, follows with a more intimate, folk-oriented approach. Her third studio album is Ego Death At a Bachelorette Party, which she first makes available through her website before its wider release. She releases the album track “Parachute” as a single as part of the same project, and later two additional tracks, “Showbiz” and “Good Ol’ Days”, appear on streaming services.

Other projects

Williams launches the online beauty and music series Kiss-Off on Popular TV in 2015. She also launches the hair-dye company Good Dye Young in 2016.
