Hayley Jensen
Hayley Jensen is an Australian pop and country singer from Albury, New South Wales, who lives in Canberra for much of her life. She is born in 1983 and appears on the second season of Australian Idol in 2004, where she reaches the Final 12 and finishes as the fourth finalist.
Australian Idol
Before entering the competition, Jensen studies Economics and Management at the University of Canberra. She first auditions in Canberra with Christina Aguilera’s “The Voice Within”, but is not initially selected. She then travels to Sydney for another audition, where she is given a place in the first round after Mark Holden changes his decision. In that round she performs Sarah McLachlan’s “Angel”, and the public vote sends her through to the Final 12.
Personal life
Jensen is née Thomas. She marries her husband Tim in January 2004.
Live work and later activity
After Australian Idol, Jensen supports Jenny Morris, Michael Spiby and Christine Anu. In 2005 she joins the fourth “Tour de Force” concert tour to Iraq, performing for Australian service personnel in the Middle East alongside Angry Anderson, Beccy Cole, Bessie Bardot and Little Pattie.
Recording career
Her debut album is Note to Self. “Waste Away” is identified as a single from that release.
