Hate

Hate is a Polish blackened death metal band from Warsaw, active since 1990. The group forms around guitarist and vocalist ATF Sinner and develops a sound rooted in black metal, blackened death metal and death metal.

Releases and label history

The band signs its first international record deal with the US label World War III in 2000. That label issues Holy Dead Trinity and Cain’s Way, which present early material from the group. In 2002, Hate moves to the French label Listenable Records and releases Awakening of the Liar in 2003. The band’s discography then includes Anaclasis: A Haunting Gospel of Malice & Hatred in 2005, Morphosis in 2008, Erebos in 2010, Solarflesh: A Gospel of Radiant Divinity in 2013, Crvsade:Zero in 2015, Tremendum in 2017, Auric Gates of Veles in 2019, Rugia in 2021 and Bellum Regiis in 2025, which is released through Metal Blade Records. The band has released twelve albums in total.

Style and development

Hate’s early work is death-metal based, but later recordings add industrial and ambient elements in the background of the main riffs. This becomes more developed on Anaclasis, which combines death, black and heavy metal with strong industrial influence. Awakening of the Liar is described as a significant release in the Polish death metal scene, and Anaclasis receives strong reviews across European metal magazines.

Other activity

In 2004 the band records an official DVD release, The Litanies of Satan, issued by Metal Mind Productions. Before the name is associated with the Polish band, it also refers to several other artists in different countries and genres.
