Harry Mack

Harry Mack is a name used by at least two different artists: a freelance video game composer and a freestyle rapper.

Video game composer

As a composer and audio designer, Harry Mack works on indie game music and has credits on more than 20 projects. He begins his career in the early 2000s and takes the role of lead audio designer at Mind Control Software in May 2005. In that position, he handles audio assets and design, including original music, sound effects, and voice-over work for titles such as Stomping Grounds, Oasis and Dimension M.

He leaves Mind Control Software in the summer of 2009 and starts working freelance. One of his first major freelance projects is the official soundtrack for Spiral Knights, which is later issued as a public album. A follow-up, Volume II, is also released. He is later hired to compose music for Slime Rancher and Slime Rancher 2, both developed by Monomi Park. His work on Slime Rancher covers almost all of the game’s music.

Freestyle rapper

Harry Mack is also a rapper known for freestyle performance and visual improvisation. He gains wider attention after his Venice Beach Freestyle goes viral, leading to appearances with Kendrick Lamar, Joey Bada$$, Ellen DeGeneres, Complex Music, The Cruz Show and Red Bull Music.

He releases his debut album, Contents Under Pressure, in 2019. He then gives debut shows in New York City, San Francisco, Portland, Chicago and Los Angeles, with those dates selling out after about five weeks on sale. In 2018, he appears in a Mitsubishi commercial campaign across North America.

He also headlines sold-out shows at the Viper Room and Moroccan Lounge, and performs at Live Nation’s Ones to Watch showcase and Bardot’s School Night showcase. He earns a Bachelor of Music from the Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California in 2012, and he has a background in jazz drumming. His style draws on improvisation in jazz and combines that with hip-hop lyricism.
