Harpoon

Harpoon is a group from Sydney, Australia. It is associated with ex-members of Kryptonics and Spunk, and the membership includes Tim Fagan. The name is also used by at least two other acts.

Australian band

In the mid-1990s, Harpoon is an Australian independent band. Its members include James McCann, who has played in Nunchukka Superfly, Murray Shepherd, who has been in Fun Things and the Screaming Tribesmen, and John Murphy, who has worked with No and Max Q. The band releases an EP on Black Hole Records called Fork Tongued Pressed & Greasy.

Chicago thrash/grind band

Another Harpoon is a thrash and grindcore act from Chicago. This group includes members of 7000 Dying Rats, Lair of the Minotaur, Gun Kata and Crazy Stallion. It releases a self-titled full-length CD independently, recorded by Sanford Parker of Minsk and mastered by Scott Hull of Pig Destroyer.

The band also issues Double Gnarly/Triple Suicide on Interloper Records, a label linked with Pelican and Tusk. That release is recorded by Andy Nelson of Weekend Nachos and mastered again by Scott Hull.
