Hana is a cover artist and the name is shared by several different performers, including HANA Pestle, a Montana-born singer, songwriter, producer, DJ and streamer based in Los Angeles; Hana, a Japanese girl group formed through the audition programme No No Girls; HANA Kuk, a Hong Kong singer; an alias used by the utaite Usa; Kim Ha-young, a South Korean singer who debuts in 2022; Thanos Hana, a techno project; an American trip-hop and ethereal duo formed by Jeff Greinke and Anisa Romero; and a singer associated with PC game themes.
HANA Pestle enters the music industry at 15 and releases several EPs and an album between 2008 and 2011 on Ben Moody’s FNR Records. She tours widely across the United States with Live, Collective Soul, Blues Traveler and Sister Hazel. Between 2015 and 2018, she works as a supporting musician and opening act for Grimes, and the two form the duo Trashique (GRIMES X HANA) for a series of collaborative videos, The AC!D Reign Chronicles, recorded during the AC!D Reign Tour and drawing on material from HANA’s EP HANA and Grimes’s album Art Angels.
In 2019, HANA becomes known on Twitch as HANAWINS and creates the album HANADRIEL alone over four weeks while broadcasting the process for more than 10 hours a day. The broadcast remains available on her YouTube channel. She later releases tracks with Grimes, Anamanaguchi, Gryffin, Tchami, LP Giobbi and CRi, and also records remixes for yeule, Chairlift, Alice Longyu Gao, Pussy Riot and Marsh. She DJs at events for brands such as Haus Labs and Dom Pérignon alongside Lady Gaga, and tours as both a DJ and singer.
HANA also works within the duo Durante & HANA, which releases the EPs 13 Voices and Celestia - EP on labels including Anjunadeep and Odd One Out.
The Japanese girl group Hana forms in 2025 through No No Girls, an audition project produced by Chanmina and Sky-Hi. The seven members are Chika, Naoko, Jisoo, Yuri, Momoka, Koharu and Mahina. The group is managed by BMSG and signs to No Label Music, with Mastersix Foundation also involved in its releases. Its early releases include the digital single Drop, the major-label single Rose, the follow-up Burning Flower, and the anime tie-in song Cold Night for the second season of Medalist. The group’s self-titled album HANA follows.
Other artists using the name include HANA Kuk, a Hong Kong singer with The Voice Entertainment Group; Hana, the alias of utaite Usa, known for Hatsune Miku covers and for the group Usa Colony; Kim Ha-young, who uses the stage name HANA and debuts with the single MY DAY; the techno project Hana by Thanos Bantis, whose self-titled debut LP appears in 2011 on Granny Records and includes the track Tate; the duo Hana, formed in 1997 by Jeff Greinke and Anisa Romero and releasing the album Omen in 2001; and a singer who debuts in 2017 with a theme song for the game カサブランカの蕾.
