Haley Heynderickx
Haley Heynderickx is an American singer-songwriter from Portland, Oregon. She is associated with americana, folk, indie folk, indie rock and singer-songwriter music, and her work also sits within acoustic and indie styles. Born in 1993, she comes from Stockton and Portland.
Releases
Heynderickx releases her debut EP, Fish Eyes, in 2016. Her first full-length recording, I Need to Start a Garden, follows in 2018 on Mama Bird Recording Co.
Style and reception
Her songs use fingerstyle acoustic guitar playing influenced by Leo Kottke and John Fahey, alongside introspective lyrics with touches of levity. I Need to Start a Garden receives positive reviews, with Pitchfork giving it a 7.3 rating, while NPR Music describes the album as captivating and Uproxx calls it an especially strong folk debut.
