Hail! The Planes

Hail! The Planes is a post-folk band from Cardiff. The group begins in October 2007, when four friends start making music together in a small room above an estate agent’s office. Their work sits between instrumental post-rock and more vocal-led indie, drawing influence from bands such as Do Make Say Think, Dirty Three, Broken Social Scene and Arcade Fire.

Recording and radio play

The band records a four-track EP in December 2008 called Tree Creeper & Other Songs. Songs from the release are played on Adam Walton’s BBC Radio Wales show and by John Kennedy on Xfm’s X-Posure, where the band is also featured as an artist.

Activity

They play shows, write songs and remain based in Cardiff.
