Hades

Hades is an American thrash metal band from New Jersey, active since 1978. The original line-up forms while the members are still in high school, and the band builds a wider audience in the 1980s through heavy touring and support slots with Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax and Nuclear Assault.

Early releases and first breakup

The band appears on Metal Blade’s Metal Massacre VI and Megaforce’s Born To Metalize compilation albums before releasing its debut album, Resisting Success, in 1987. A second album, If At First You Don’t Succeed, follows in 1989. After a European tour that same year, Hades breaks up and its members move on to other groups.

Reformation and later work

Hades re-forms in 1999 and records three albums for Metal Blade. The live DVD issued in 2008 is filmed at a Boston show from December 1988, when the band opens for Manowar and Nuclear Assault. It also includes the Behind The Metal documentary, which is filmed during the recording of 2000 - The Downside and features interviews with the band members, old video clips, television appearances and live footage.

Membership

Scott Lepage and Alan Tecchio are listed as members of the band.
