Gypsy Pistoleros

Gypsy Pistoleros are a UK hard rock group active since 2005. The band is based around a blend of flamenco, glam and sleaze rock, with punk, rock and roll, latin and rumba influences also forming part of their sound. Their music develops from the idea of Flamenco-infused glam rock colliding with punk and rock riffs.

History and style

The group begins as the brainchild of Lee Pistolero and first takes shape in Zaragoza, Spain, before developing into a live act touring the UK, Europe and the US. Their sound separates them from other glam and sleaze acts through its mix of flamenco and latin elements with hard rock and rumba. The band’s early momentum comes from a support slot with Adler’s Appetite in Spain in 2006.

Festivals, touring and media

Gypsy Pistoleros are the only band to play all five Rocklahoma festivals from 2007 to 2011. They also appear in the PlayStation 3 and Xbox game WET, which includes three of their tracks.

Recordings and label work

In late 2011 the band signs to Heavy Metal Records and issues a first single on the label, a version of Ricky Martin’s Livin’ la Vida Loca. They also release Forever Wild, Beautiful and Damned! The Greatest Hits Volume 1! in early April.

Line-up

Later line-up details list Iggy Pistolero on guitars, Kenny K Doll on bass and Jeff Pistolero on drums. Lee Pistolero later leaves the group to continue solo.
