GVLLOW is a self-recording, self-producing artist from Riverside, California. He begins his solo career in 2016, drawing on a background in punk rock, gothic rock, post-punk and hip hop.

Background

He starts out in the Southern California punk scene as a drummer at the age of 14. By the age of 21, he moves into hip hop production and DJing, working with the rap collective schemaposse under the name JO$HEATN. His work combines the musical styles he has developed across those scenes.

Solo work

In 2016, he branches off into a solo project under the name Gvllow. The project follows the death of his best friend and bandmate Zak, and he frames the work as a way of honouring friends through music and creative expression. His sound is rooted in punk, dark, and post-punk influences, alongside hip hop elements.
