Guv is the recording name of Ben Cook, a Canadian-British musician who moves from the 2000s hardcore and punk scene into indie, power pop and related styles. He begins as a guitarist in the Toronto hardcore band No Warning and later plays with the punk experimental group Fucked Up.

He first records under the name Young Guv before changing the project name to Guv. His work develops from raw garage rock into jangle pop, country and British 1990s-inspired breakbeat pop.

His music is described as critically acclaimed, and the album Warmer Than Gold is associated with the project.
