Gush

Gush are a French rock group from Yvelines, France, active since 2004. The band is made up of brothers Xavier and Vincent Polycarpe and cousins Yan Gorozetsky and Mathieu Parnaud. They are described as playing an energetic style of rock with a strong emphasis on vocals and four-part harmony.

Style and influences

Their music draws on a wide range of influences, including The Rolling Stones, Neil Young, Michael Jackson and 1970s funk bands. The group’s sound is also associated with indie rock and indie pop, alongside free jazz influences in wider genre tagging.

Releases

Before their first album, the group releases four EPs. Amazing appears in 2005, when the band is known as Guts, followed by Rocking for My Children in 2007, B-Side in 2008 and Gush in 2009. Their first full-length album, Everybody’s God, follows in 2010.
